emerginC Scientific Organics Phytocell Detox Mask
www.emerginc.comGone are the days when you turn the corner out of the bathroom and scare family/friends with a bright green face. Although the Phytocell Detox Mask contains French green clay… it isn’t of fluorescent variety. Sharing your living space when you want to apply a mask has become a little less frightening thanks to this emerginC Scientific Organics mask.
I loved when I found out that this mask contains kombucha – an ingredient that fascinates me. Perhaps you’ve seen the effervescent fermented tea at your local health food store? Most people drink it based on its anecdotal health benefits and for medicinal reasons – makes sense as kombucha is chock full of helpful enzymes, amino acids and polyphenols. Applied topically, kombucha has been said to assist with signs of aging by lessening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Another ingredient of note is grape stem cells. The fruit is being used more and more as it has been discovered to emulate our own skin cells. Grape stem cells also contain a very high concentration of antioxidants creating a regenerative effect on the skin. Which most certainly came in handy after my recent conference in sinful and smoky Las Vegas.
Also used in the mask is sea starwort oil – uniquely chosen I suspect as it doesn’t require the use of parabens. The oil is moisturizing. Soothing for skin irritations, as well as protective to the skin against all the harm caused by UVB and UVA rays.
Another great thing about the mask is that it doesn’t get so dry that it flakes off your face thanks to the inclusion of glycerin. (An interesting side note… I just learned it is never good to leave a mask on so long that it crumbles off!) After using the mask my skin had a nice glow and felt optimally hydrated.
The best thing about the mask is that emerginC is proving with their Scientific Organics line that you can be both mindful about what is included in your skincare at the same time creating a line that is effective.
